Costa Coffee Club Card Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to your Costa Coffee Club Card and govern the relationship between Costa Limited ("we" or "us") and you. Use of your Costa Coffee Club Card will constitute acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. These terms and conditions override any statements on your Costa Coffee Club Card if they are different. You must therefore read them carefully. Please print a copy of these Terms and Conditions for your records. The Costa Coffee Club Card enables you to earn points on certain purchases in participating Costa outlets.

Obtaining your Costa Coffee Club Card

You can obtain a Costa Coffee Club Card free of charge at any participating Costa outlet. Your Costa Coffee Club Card is issued by, and remains the property of, MBCC Foods (Ireland) Limited.

Using your Costa Coffee Club Card

You can use your Costa Coffee Club Card at any participating Costa outlet. It is not a credit card, charge card or debit card. You cannot transfer your Costa Coffee Club Card or any stored points on it to any other person.

Earning and redeeming points

A Costa Coffee Club Card can only be registered in the name of an individual. Only one card may be registered in the name of each individual.

Points can only be earned at the time of purchase and only if the Costa Coffee Club Card is presented at the time of payment. You will earn five points for each complete €/£1 spent. You can check the points balance on your Costa Coffee Club Card at any time online or at any participating Costa outlet. We will keep a record of previous transactions to ensure that this balance is correct at all times.

The Costa Coffee Club Card cannot be used in conjunction with any discount or privilege card whether issued by us or by any third party.

Points have no cash value. Redeemed points cannot be used again. Points can only be earned, held and redeemed as set out in these Terms and Conditions. Any points obtained or used otherwise than in accordance with these Terms and Conditions will be invalid and cannot be redeemed.

Points are personal to the individual card holder and cannot be pooled with points earned by another individual and redeemed together.

We may, on notifying you, forfeit all accrued points, and/or suspend your right to collect and/or redeem points if you are in breach of these Terms and Conditions, if we have reasonable grounds to suspect that you are engaged in fraudulent or other criminal activities relating to us or your Costa Coffee Club Card, or if you supply false or misleading information.

You may only redeem points against purchases made in participating Costa outlets. Each point equals €0.01 (Republic of Ireland) or £0.01 (Northern Ireland) when redeemed against a purchase. . You must have sufficient points to pay in full for a purchase if you wish to redeem points. You may not make part payment for a purchase using redeemed points. Points cannot be earned to the extent that a purchase is made with redeemed points.

Expiry and Cancellation

Your Costa Coffee Club Card does not have an expiry date. However, points are valid for a period of one year from the date they are accrued. We reserve the right to remove any points from your Costa Coffee Club Card which are more than one year old.

Expired points cannot be transferred to a new card or redeemed or reinstated.

You have the right to cancel your Costa Coffee Club Card at any time by returning it to Customer Services. If you cancel your Costa Coffee Club Card you will lose the right to redeem all unused points. If you wish to cancel your Costa Card you must contact Customer Services on 1890 262 728 (Republic of Ireland) OR 0870 423 9975 (Northern Ireland) or at costacoffeeclub@whitbread.com.

Registering your Costa Coffee Club Card

To protect the points on your Costa Coffee Club Card from loss, theft or damage you can register your Costa Coffee Club Card by following the instructions here.

If you need to change any of the details you have registered with your Costa Coffee Club Card, please contact Customer Services by telephone on 1890 262 728 (Republic of Ireland) OR 0870 423 9975 (Northern Ireland) between the hours of 9.00 am and 5:00 pm on Monday to Friday, by e-mail at costacoffeeclub@whitbread.com; alternatively, you can make changes through the Costa website. It is your responsibility to notify us of any changes to your details.

Loss, theft, damage

You should treat your Costa Coffee Club Card like cash in a wallet. If you lose your Costa Coffee Club Card or if it is stolen you may lose any points you have earned in the same way as if you lost your wallet.

If you have registered your Costa Coffee Club Card through the Costa website, you should immediately report any loss, theft, fraudulent or unauthorised use of your Costa Coffee Club Card to Customer Services on 1890 262 728 (Republic of Ireland) OR 0870 423 9975 (Northern Ireland)

In the event of loss, theft, fraud or other unauthorised use of your Costa Coffee Club Card, or if your Costa Coffee Club Card is damaged or malfunctions, we may, at our sole discretion, replace your Costa Coffee Club Card and transfer any points stored on it to a replacement card. Circumstances in which we may determine, in our sole discretion, that we will not replace your Costa Coffee Club Card include those where we reasonably believe that the notified incident has been caused by your wilful breach of these Terms and Conditions or if there are reasonable grounds for suspecting that you are or have been engaged in fraudulent or other unlawful conduct.

If we agree to replace your Costa Coffee Club Card, a replacement card will be delivered to your registered home address, usually within 10 days of you first notifying Customer Services of the incident.

Replacement cards will be posted to your registered home address only. We reserve the right to charge a replacement card fee for each replacement card in the event that you are issued with more than two replacement cards within any 6 month period.

If you subsequently find or retrieve a Costa Coffee Club Card which you have reported lost or stolen, you must notify Customer Services immediately.

Complaints procedure

Complaints regarding any element of the Costa Coffee Club Card service should be sent in writing or by email to Customer Services, Whitbread Court, Houghton Hall Business Park, Porz Avenue, Dunstable, LU5 5XE or costacoffeeclub@whitbread.com. All complaints will be subject to the Costa Complaints Procedure which will be provided to you on your request.

Compensation

Points earned on your Costa Coffee Club Card are not covered by any compensation scheme.

Data protection and privacy

If you register your Costa Coffee Club Card on the Costa website you will be asked to provide certain personal information, including your name, address and contact details. We are committed to maintaining the security of your personal information in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act and will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your personal data is kept secure against unauthorised access, loss, disclosure or destruction.

The Costa Coffee Club Card Privacy Policy (available at our website) will apply whenever you provide us with personal information, and is incorporated by reference into these Terms and Conditions.

Except as required by law, or in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and the Costa Coffee Club Card Privacy Policy, your personal information will not be passed to any other persons without your permission.

Liability of Costa Limited and MBCC Foods (Ireland) Limited.

Neither Costa Limited or MBCC Foods (Ireland) Limited shall be held liable for any default resulting directly or indirectly from any cause beyond our control, including but not limited to, failure of network services and failure of data processing systems.

Variation

We reserve the right to amend or waive any provision of these Terms and Conditions from time to time and at any time, or to terminate the Costa Coffee Club Card program on reasonable notice. The Terms and Conditions applicable to the use of a Costa Coffee Club Card shall at any time be the terms and conditions published on the Costa website and your continued use of a Costa Coffee Club Card shall constitute your acceptance of such terms and conditions.

Assignment

We may transfer the benefit of these Terms and Conditions to any other company in the same group of companies as Costa Limited. If we assign the benefit of these Terms and Conditions, your rights will not be affected.

Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Irish and UK law.
